Insights From a Week Of Learning

Insights From a Week Of Learning

Last week Wednesday, we had our learning area classes, which included sessions in languages, tech, cooking, and more.

We started with our language class. Upon arriving, we were directed to the hall. Once inside, we played an animal game in Māori, which was a lot of fun. We wrapped up that session with some singing.

Next, we moved on to tech, where we worked on a slide presentation about Whakatipu Ahuatanga. We answered various questions related to the topic, which encouraged us to do research and find more information.

After the break, the class split in half: one group went to cooking, while the other went to a different class. Luckily, I was placed in the cooking group. As soon as we entered the cooking class, we were advised to form groups of four and instructed to grab four aprons for each other. We learned that we would be making samosas and then quick and easy chocolate chip muffins.

Overall, it was a productive and engaging day filled with diverse learning experiences!

Scratch Crab Game

Scratch Crab Game

Today, we learned how to remix this crab game on Scratch. Ms Krausse taught us ways to modify the game, including changing the crab’s expressions and altering the games concept.

I hope you like my version of the crab game!

Do you think you can create a remixed expression for this crab?

Screams & Dreams of a Rollercoaster Ride

In writing yesterday our class was introduced to Narrative Poems. We went through what narrative poems were, what they included and had a chance to create our own using a set topic. Have look down below at my Narrative poem I created.

Screams & Dreams of a Roller coaster Ride

Screams are laughter, pure and true,
In the skies of blue,
As the coaster dances with the night,
In rhythm with the heart’s delight
and screams with fright

Do you think you could add on to my Narrative poem?

Treasure Hunt.

Today We did a Treasure Hunt and we had to find out things about Mrs Krausse online, and we had to find out when was her birthday and her birth year, and plus besides her hobbies, what she looks like her family and friends where she works and other information we can find out about her online.

After we Did Her treasure hunt we were told to create our own, so We searched our names up on online to find out any pictures of us and other things we could put on up on our treasure hunt.

Reflections

  • What did you learn? :

I learnt how to like solve the problems by working as a team and helping each other out to get the answer.

  • What would you like to improve on:

I would like to improve on our skills on finding answers because like some of the times we quite don’t get it right so i’d like to improve on that.

  • Challenges:

Challenges would be like trying to solve it and try to understand the problem and double checking our answers.
